So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I was just looking at the tab for Crush (standard tuning) and I noticed this in the verse:
Code: Select all
E:--------------------
B:--3----2------------
G:--2----2----4----5-- <---4on last5&5
D:--------------------
A:--x----x----x----x--
E:--0----0----1----3-- <---1
I'm wondering how to play the chords where D isn't marked? Is it strummed as a chord or what? There's no indication of a mute or open string, it's just blank.
Thanks and sorry if this seems like a stupid question, I've just never seen a chord tabbed out like that before.

you can either play the D string open or muted when the chord is written like that. its all a matter of your own preference and what you think sounds best. i usually play the D open.
