First Critique Request - Hope It's Not Too Bad

Unread post by CPTino3001 » Thu May 19, 2005 11:58 am

Well, I had a little time this morning, so I thought I'd try to put something together. I haven't posted here in ages, but people here have always given good feedback.

I'll warn you that I recorded a country song, because someone told me I could never pull off country. I don't even particularly like country music, but this song isn't bad.

So, here is my take at "Wrapped Up In You" by Garth Brooks (AKA the song from the Dr. Pepper commercial).

I wanted another go at the backup vocals, but they'll have to do for now.

Song

Unread post by CPTino3001 » Thu May 19, 2005 5:27 pm

Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned what song it is, country is usually like the plague...

Anyways, any thoughts on the recording at least would be appriciated. I've been working on getting the best tone I can with my equipment, so any comments would help.

I listened to this song last night and I enjoyed both aspects of your playing.
The guitar playing was solid. I never heard this song before but I could tell by your playing style that you nailed the song. If there were any screw ups I didn't notice them or you hid them well. :)

The vocals were just as good as the guitar. While listening to this song I only wish I had your smooth vocals.

Anyway, Keep on posting some new stuff for us. Nice Work!
