Kyser capos
The capo is cut off so it only covers A through high E... which puts your guitar into drop D when you capo on 2. but i dont really see the purpose of it because as soon as you fret anything on low e your back to standardcheckii wrote:that doesnt make sense to me. the cutout holds the strigns? strings above the low E? capo on 2? i thought drop d meant down a whole step?GuitarGuy305 wrote:There is a cutout on the part of the capo that presses the strings above the Low E string, so the capo does not push the Low E string down. So, if you capo on two, it's like Drop D up a whole step.
Hope that makes sense...
sorry, it just makes no sense to me and i am damn curious now.

I should have posted this earlier, but here is a pic of the capo on a guitar:praisedave wrote:The capo is cut off so it only covers A through high E... which puts your guitar into drop D when you capo on 2. but i dont really see the purpose of it because as soon as you fret anything on low e your back to standardcheckii wrote:that doesnt make sense to me. the cutout holds the strigns? strings above the low E? capo on 2? i thought drop d meant down a whole step?GuitarGuy305 wrote:There is a cutout on the part of the capo that presses the strings above the Low E string, so the capo does not push the Low E string down. You can see the cutout above the Low E string, so the Low E string is not pressed down by the capo.

yeah it doesnt make sense to me either. its only drop d when you hit the open string, if you fret it, its back in standard like praise said. Why would anyone buy it then?praisedave wrote:The capo is cut off so it only covers A through high E... which puts your guitar into drop D when you capo on 2. but i dont really see the purpose of it because as soon as you fret anything on low e your back to standardcheckii wrote:that doesnt make sense to me. the cutout holds the strigns? strings above the low E? capo on 2? i thought drop d meant down a whole step?GuitarGuy305 wrote:There is a cutout on the part of the capo that presses the strings above the Low E string, so the capo does not push the Low E string down. Cause you can have it capoed anywhere on the neck and still have a fat low e whenever you want without retuning.Tranman66 wrote:yeah it doesnt make sense to me either. its only drop d when you hit the open string, if you fret it, its back in standard like praise said. It's still a sham because you can just turn the capo around and leave that low E un-capoed with a standard keyser clamp. Sorry if I offend anyone, but only a fool would buy that capo.drakemh wrote:Cause you can have it capoed anywhere on the neck and still have a fat low e whenever you want without retuning.Tranman66 wrote:yeah it doesnt make sense to me either. its only drop d when you hit the open string, if you fret it, its back in standard like praise said. I've been using Kyser for years. I even had one broken by a friend who actually hates capos so much he always tries to steal mine and throw it on something hard, like a wall or the ground. Anyway, I sent mine back and I got a free replacement within a week.
