jesus, saturday morning im eating lunch at bellacino's (a pizza place) wearing my d+t shirt, and some lady i dont know comes up to me, giggling, and stuff, and asked if that was the dave matthews shirt, so i said yeah and she kept giggling, and she asks if i heard what they did, i assumed it was about the new album or whatever, and so i ask what and she laughs some more, and goes "you know the thing in chicago heheh well i wont tell you while your eating hehehe" and i just laughed at her, litterally pointed and laughed... then i left.

That was such a fucking retarded incident. I am surprised the band are readily taking full responsibility for it. If I was Dave, I'd sooner be like, "Shit, don't fucking label my band for something a dumbass careless driver barely associated with us did."

But I guess DMB is doing the honorable thing, and given his apology I think this thing will blow over much quicker now that he has officially not denied it.

I wonder if that driver was a close personal friend of the band that had been with them a while and had to be fired for the incident?

How can DMB not taken responsibility? DMB is basically a corporation and one of their employees did it. Like Dave said in the interview, it falls under their umbrella.
