i hit thatKevinGTArch wrote:Sadly I couldn't wait any longer for the mail tonight so I walked across the street during lunch at work and bought the non-dualdisc version. If anyone is interested you can pick it up for $9.98 at Target ($11.98 for DualDisc).
I dig how the CD is pure black save for the "DMB" inscription - it's very reminiscent of UTTAD. Maybe another statement about this album as a re-invention of themselves, maybe I'm reading too much into the color of a CD.
I was a little bummed that there are no printed lyrics in the insert. It's good to see Butch's name showing up on the majority of the tracks as responsible for the piano/keys. Though he may never be an original member of the band, I like to know his prescence and contributions are continually being affirmed.
Also, under the American Baby listing is LeRoi Moore as doing "Pyrotechnics" in addition to the saxes. WTF is this??? Did he just play with fire in the studio?

Nope, youre in florida, so maybe they still werent able to get it to you in one day with the express. Id assume youll get it sooner than you would have if you had the regular shipping. You didnt order it with overnight so youre not gonna get any money back.KahnTheRevelator wrote:Well, it's May 10th, I ordered the expensive shipping, and my album isn't fucking here. UPS has to refund my shipping cost right?

I just got finished running through the whole dual disk thing and I must say I like it! Maybe this record should be called infectious grooves, because thats what I got from the album as a whole. The production on this record is incredible, Mark Batson did a terrific job in my opinion and I hope he sticks around for a while. Cant say I disliked one song in its entirety, so I think they'll all grow on me after a couple of listens. I cant believe I disliked American Baby on the first listen, now I really like it. The intro was kick ass too! Luisiana bayoo is a straight up bad ass track, nuff said! I like the crunchy electric guitars throughout the record, it was nice to hear some balls from the band for once. Overall it was a really good album, and Im glad I stayed the course and didnt listen to the VH1 streams so I could experience the record as a whole.

yes, because you couldnt have streamed the record as a whole and experienced it in the same exact matter. not that it matters, I just dont know why everyone thinks that listening to the vh1 stream would have somehow ruined their experience or that they are better for waiting. I loved it when I streamed it, I loved it more when I had it on my iPod a week before it came out, and Im gonna love it even more still when I get the cd I preordered in the mail tomorrow.Skankerton wrote:I just got finished running through the whole dual disk thing and I must say I like it! The first time i put it in my CD-ROM the songs slowed down enough while playing to make dave sound like a very large black man on all the tracks. After a reboot and closing all other programs, I ripped it to my hard-drive in .wav and .mp3 formats (.wav for WMP and .mp3 for my PSP). It should work fine!GuitarGuy305 wrote:I haven't yet tried ripping this to MP3 to put on my IPOD. Anyone have any issues ripping the DualDisc to MP3? Or just copying the CD in general?
