It was actualy 3 different songs john mashed together. Yellow Submarine, they wanted to get a nice ringo song on the album, and paul had an idea of giving him something not serious to write about, since he doesn't have the greatest voice. Then, that night, Paul was sleeping and was in that twilight period, where you are not asleep but not awake. He started singing to himself about a yellow submarine. He said, that would be a good song for ringo to do. Again, all the info I am giving you has come from the anthologies, the books and videos (the accurate ones, right from their mouths)

And don't trust me? I get all my info from 6 people:

John Lennon
Paul McCartney
George Harrison
Ringo Starr
Gorge Martin
and Yoko Ono

Go out and get the anthology book or the dvds.

You call them liars, and then you can rot in your grave.

And oh yesh, it's a conspiracy, I am just some weird babling idiot . . . fuck off!
To go further into I am the Walrus, John said that he just wanted to write a song involving characters from the Lewis Carroll Stevenson poem, the Walrus and The Carpenter. He later learned that in the poem, the walrus is kinda the evil character, and he joked that he chose the wrong one for the song, and it should have been I am the Carpenter.

Yes they do. I post something neutral, then they attack me. Then I try to defend myself, and they mock me. I have had this happening for a year now, and I damn ass sick of it. I want to help, but not in such a negative environment. I am not going to be here much longer. Sorry to all the people who aren't doing this to me, but I have just had it.

yea i guess Lennon wasnt addicted to heroin during the Let It Be sessions

The Beatles were a mess in 1968 and early 1969, working together in a shaky truce. They had not played on a stage since 1966. Personal differences blew up into open squabbling during the recording of 1968's The Beatles, thirty songs that were really four solo albums under one roof -- "Me and a backing group, Paul and a backing group," Lennon said. "I just did it like a job."

Code: Select all

Rolling Stone
McCartney countered Lennon's fuck-it attitude -- compounded by Lennon's addiction to heroin at the time -- by assuming almost dictatorial control of the group.

don't get me wrong, I like everyday. but, it was kind of a different direction for the band, even compared to busted stuff. think we'll see more busted stuff style, or more everyday-ness on this new album?
I agree with your first paragraph strongly.

ED was pre-arranged by Ballard and I can understand why this disc was not immediately well received by fans, but over time I think many if not most DMB fans grew to like, accept and even love the release.

It may take time for me personally and possibly other fans of DMB to get used to SU, but I have to say that I've been sort of let down after hearing clips of nearly every song, some in their entirety. Only time will tell.

I didn't say John didn't become addicted to heroin. John and Yoko, after being so hounded by the press, they started to snort a little heroin. It started right at the end of the Get Back sessions, not during the main part. Then they noticed the toll it was making on them, they went cold turkey. It was a hellfull experience to them. John then wrote his first drug song about it, Cold Turkey. He took it to the Beatles, and wanted to do it as a single. The others didn't really dig it. So John said, fuck that then, I'll do it myself. So after they did Abbey Road, John released it.

The beatles did heavy drugs, john did a LOT of heavey drugs, but didn't write any good songs on them, and recorded crap stuff on them. They did record and write on mild drugs like pot, but not on acid or crack or heroin.

How do you know, what makes you think you have such fool proof inside information, I think thats what everybodys problem is with you. You come off like you spent every waking minute with the beatles (and DMB) when you tell stories like these.

how did john write any songs that werent worth a shit while he was addicted to heroin, he was addicted in the mid to late sixties, when some really good shit was recorded. when you are a junkie, you dont choose when to do it, you do it all of the time so you dont get sick, so john was definitely high on "hardcore drugs" when they wrote some good music, i dont see where your basis in this arugment is, and why it is such a big deal to you. some of the best music/literature/art has been created while under the influence of hardcore drugs. Edgar Allan Poe, was able to write the shit he did because he use to take opium and would have horrid nightmares while on it and wake up and right down his dreams. Hendrix created music, while high on acid because of the "cosmic experience" he said he got while on the drug. it's a fact just because you are against drug use doesnt mean some of the people who you hold as music idols didnt do any "hardcore drugs" while producing said music.
