So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Ok, when playing this song, what fill do you guys use when going from the 5x35 chord to the 12x1012 chord? When you listen to the song, he plays the 7x57 to 5x35, then there is a pause in playing but there is some kind of string or something being played before going to 12x1012 part. Thanks

Chances are your just hearing timmy's fills. I have several solo versions of that song and dave just simply slides up to the 12x1012.

Timmy's most common fill is 10-10-10-10-8 on the b string. Sometimes he'll go 8/10-8 on the b.

I play an octave of an A on the d string. mess around with these little fills. They sound good when you get someone else to play them. They should come in right after the 54X6XX chord

Code: Select all

e-----------------------------------
B---10----10----10----10----------
G-----------------------------------
D---7-----7-----7------7-----------
A-----------------------------------
E------------------------------------

Code: Select all

e-------------------------------------
B---10---10/----12----8-------------
G-------------------------------------
D---7-----7/-----9-----5------------
A-------------------------------------
E------------------------------------

I like to hit the harmonics on the 12th fret A & D a few times. I believe Tim does that on the Some Devil bonus disk.
