Tim and maybe Dave?

Unread post by Snyder » Thu Apr 28, 2005 12:23 pm

So, I just bought tickets for two back to back shows for Tim Reynolds at a small pub 2 blocks from my apartment.

The dates are September 15th and 16th.

The Dave Matthews Band tour looks like it ends a week or so before that.

What do you think my chances are that Dave would be back home here in Seattle by that time and want to meet up and play some guitar with his ol' buddy Timmy and a small Seattle pub?

Now, I am completely happy seeing Just Tim tear it up with his own tunes like only Timmy can, but if Dave showed up I would poop my britches.

if he does i dont think the do it both nights, cause it would create a fucking traffic jam on night two.,
My guess would be that if he does it would be night 2 only and for an encore, possibly more.

The odds are decent enough to wear I would travel about 300 miles or so to see.

*got my fingers crossed for ya*

You won't be disappointed at all. I saw him about 2 weeks ago here in Lubbock, TX and he tore it up. That would be sweet though if Dave did show up. That place would go nuts.

You're going to love the Tim show greatly in and of itself (saw him a couple weeks ago here in ATX). Dave showing up to play is VERY unlikely in my opinion, although he may be physically there (look out for him in the wings!). I don't think Tim wants to further that image of him being tied to Dave even in his own career.

He's been in C'ville recording the album for months, his wife is in school in Seattle, and he just got off an international tour. Where do you think he's gonna be?

I can agree with that. It would put Tim as second fiddle if Dave showed up.
But, who knows???

well, think of it like this, he spent time very soon after the last tour ended to record, then finished the album then was sent off to australia for the tour, now hes back prolly in rehersal for the tour doing promo for the album. soon hes gonna make the tv and radio rounds, drop the album, then tour for 3 months. with that he wont have had a true break since last spring. where would you go in this situation, your home in the city, or your country getaway where you can relax.

but i know he may go back to seattle, but there is a good chance he might not. but like checkii said night 2 only if at all.

Exactly what I was thinking. Dave doesn't have the skill to just "sit in" with Tim. It'd have to be something Dave could play, and then Tim back him up.

I am really excited to see Tim play his own tunes. It's just the other part of me, the Dave Matthews fan in me, that thinks it would be cool to see the two of them in such a small bar playing together.

Hey Snyder, nice to see you. Have fun at the Tim show, he's fucking crazy. I quite enjoy his odd flavor of stuff and most others on this here guitar forum do, so yippee for you dude :)
