Ok . im a little confused now. How does that C#m7 rime with the fingering of the dave chord. The dave chord has the following notesgravedigger wrote:

if the chord should consist of a " (major minor minor )" stack, then it would be like this C# - F - G# - B which is somewhat different from the notes in the chord.. i can see the 7th note (B) coming in here, but what the hell is up with that E. i must be completely out of tune with this intervalthinking..
my reasoning:
C# - D - D# - E - F - F# - G - G# - A - A#/Bb - B - C - C#
0 --- 1 -- 2 -- 3 - 4 -- 5 -- 6 -- 7 -- 8 ---- 9 --- 10 - 11 - 12
so the ( major minor minor ) becomes ( 4 step, 3 step , 3 step )
thus (C# - F - G# - B)
Anyway it's half past two in the morning in Europe and i need to get some sleep so i can study for my accounting exams.

well, for starters, since it's a MINOR chord, the stacking of thirds should be minor major minor, not major minor minor. So the chord should be C# E G# B. That's why you're having a hard time with this. The second thing is that the fifth is regularly omitted from chord voicings. It is seen as somewhat unessential. That's what happens in the crash chord. Hope this helps.

ok, ive been listening to a pretty cool acoustic version of all along the watctower, in which tim pull a cool solo how do i figure out what hes playing without using a tab. Should i just solo in the key of the chords of the song? like A G F G or based of scales or what?
