Well, I got a benifit gig on tuesday (part of a 2 day protest for homeless shelters in madison). My dad then out of the blue, buys me this! He's been fiddling with it constantly the past 2 days, making sure it will work right, and such, and be ready for outdoors, since I'm going to be performing outdoors.

It's actualy really nice. The actual thing is as big as an Aura or a Pod, not big at all. It also sounds wonderful for such a small thing, and is is perfect for just guitar and vocals. I'll tell you all how it performs live after tuesday. Now I must go back to the couch in horrible pain and such from whatever is making my body feel like shit and making me want to die. Peace.

Nice...I was going to get one, but I figured out how to hook my guitar up to my surround sound system in my room, so I just did that instead. And it only cost me about 40 bucks too :)

Good luck on the gig and hope you feel better in time.

it's a protest for the local government to build a Wet Shelter for the homeless. I don't have a setlist yet, but I will in a day.

Yeah, I used a mixer

Around $30 for the mixer and about $10 for the cord that ran from the mixer to the reciever.

I highly recommend doing this. It sounds freakin awesome.

sorry I didn't reply for a while. I've just been so sick.

Well, only 3 people showed up for the protest. There were supposed to be 5 or 6. They were so thankful too because I brought a PA system for people to use. It was at a place called Library mall. It's a big area of concrete sided by the University Bookstore, and one of hte UW librarys . . . as well as a right wing catholic facility and a right wing luthern facility, sigh, it's also right at the begining of State Street. I was there once when the cathloics were protesting against homosexual marrige and crap, and I was scoping out camera spots because I was record a band performing there the next day. I argued with one of them for a while, then made a quote john lennon made, "god is a concept about which we measure our pain". The guy then said he must not have been a wise man . . . I almost killed him. Anyways, luckily, the rain held out, and the sun came out eventualy. We had a great time, and got tons of signatures and donations. People were very reponsive, and it was all positive. Then a women's pro-choice movement came down (but didn't know you had to reserve the library mall to do stuff there and amplify anything). We were nice and let them use my stuff for about 30 minutes, then we took back over. Everything just went Extremly well. Except one thing . . . someone tipped over my Les Paul  . The volume and tone knobs got bent. I am going to have to replace them. I also then got a parking ticket later that day, thinking I could legaly park somewhere, and turns out my cousin was wrong, argh! Ok, 2 bad things that day.

The pa system, it worked wonmders. It was amazing. The mix was great, barely ever clipped, and everyone who used it, it worked extremly well. If you want a good portable system, get this one!

Now, my set list I made, I had to stop halfway through to let the DJs who came to do their thing for a while, then I got back on. I didn't get a chance to finish my set, I stopped 3 songs short. Though, I was called back up to do a duet three times. They were Tangerine, Blowing In the Wind, and Like A Rolling Stone. Here was the setlist, though:

BOWA
Dark Say Goodnight - original
Emily - original
Ballad of Silence - original
Typical Situations
Waiting For You - original
Amie - damien rice
Across the Universe
From the Outside Looking In (Turmoil Country) - original
Shelter From the Storm - dylan
Sentry Girl - original
Is there Anybody In There? - original not peroformed
Imagine - not performed
When You Fall - original not performed

Despite the guitar and ticket, it turned out swell. Oh yeah, also I had no money, and I was so hungry, and the food they had was sitting out from the night before during their first sleepout on the Library Mall. I said outloud to myself, "man, I wish I could get a taco and nachos from Taco Bell right now." 10 minutes later, they came to me with a soft shelled taco, nachos with cheese, and a huge thing of MD.

Again , pa system, great.
