So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I don't know if these are the correct positions, but they're the right notes. I experimented with different places to play the verse, and found that starting on the 10th fret on the low E string gave it that bassy sound it has.

Clip: http://www.patmcinnis.com/wakeup.mp3 (I was messing around with my electric today - this is the result.)

Code: Select all

Wake Up

Verse
E----------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------
G----------------------------------------
D----------------------------------------
A-----12----10----10----10----10----12---
E--10----10----10----10----10----10------

Chorus: F - C - G - C

Riff during Chorus:
E-----------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------
G--10--9-------------------------------9--
D---------12--10------------9--10--12-----
A-------------------10--12----------------
E-----------------------------------------

well done pat, sounds really good (as usual). If I had an electric i'd be playing it right now.
