question about the older RECENTLY video by Pat

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

question about the older RECENTLY video by Pat

Unread post by scatterbrain » Fri Apr 22, 2005 8:31 pm

Pat does a really fast cool slide riff on his first video of RECENTLY during the verse (first does a slide that appears to go until the 5th fret and then he does the fast cool slide riff shortly after...that slide appears to reach the 8th fret) Too fast for me to catch. Pat by the way, doesn't do this slide/riff in his recent video of RECENTLY. I'd appreciate it if someone could post the tab and fingerings. Thanks in advance!

if you were to do a search or "RECENTLY," under the dave's guitar discussion, and if you look at the 13th topic from the top (the title of the topic is recently by the way) that's is where i found you're old version video of recently. thanks again !

ok. it's just a slide from the 5th to the 7th on the D string. Then just hit the open G.

so, it'd look like this:

-----0----
5/7---

i've been practicing that riff you just helped me out with and i'm almost getting it down. you're probably gonna want to choke me for asking you another question...but what is the tab for the second sliding riff that you do immediately after the first riff you helped me out with? just like the first riff, that was way too fast for me to catch...and once again, thanks so much for the help!

i've been working on that 12th fret harmonic slide for awhile and i can't get it up to speed. do you hit that 12th fret harmonic w/ an upstroke or a downstroke?
