That's your opinion, but I just don't care for what I've heard so far. I'm not attempting to be a dark horse here and bash the new material especially without hearing all of it in it's entirety - however I will say that what I've heard I just don't like. It feels generic and I know this may sound dumb, but very "un-DMB-like".bbatsell wrote:Well first of all if i had the time/energy/cared enough, i would post 30-second snippets of ants marching, tripping billies and every other gorgeous dave song and if you'd never heard them before you would more than likely say the same thing. you're wanting "the build up that makes DMB songs special to you" in 30 seconds? come on.

So what if the songs are a little shorter than normal? Radiohead can get accross and accomplish so much more in 3 minutes than DMB can in 7. That may sound blasphemous, and yes these are two completely different bands, but there's a point here. Solos are best really short and sweet in my opinion (for an album's sake I mean). Long-winded solos are a thing of the past now and it's all about creativity, texturing and tightness. Believe me I LOVE Two Step and #41, but that's why it's best in the live shows. I want to see what DMB's going to do this summer, hope the source material is good.

do you think that the verses of pig sounded dmb-like when we first heard them? or the slowed down and mellow ddtw?c_tietze wrote:That's your opinion, but I just don't care for what I've heard so far. I noticed a big change in the overall sound during the BTCS release time, I still liked what I heard. I'll be honest, I heard ED for the first tim and was like, "wow, that's different" but there were songs like So Right, When the World Ends and What Your Are - all great songs. I don't care for American Baby, it's boring, to me at least. From the other clips that I've heard it almost sounds like Some Devil which I thought was a good album and an interesting look at Dave as a solo artist.i like tictacs wrote:do you think that the verses of pig sounded dmb-like when we first heard them? or the slowed down and mellow ddtw?c_tietze wrote:That's your opinion, but I just don't care for what I've heard so far. btw, Pig reminds me of #34 in some respects.
