question about RECENTLY verse

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

question about RECENTLY verse

Unread post by scatterbrain » Fri Apr 22, 2005 3:38 am

E:-------------------------
B:-------------------------
G:----4--------5-----------
D:-------0--3--------5--5--
A:----------------3--------
E:-3-----------------------
2 4 1 4 1 4 4

are the first six notes (3,4,0,3,5,3) played using alternative picking? while the last two notes (5,5) are strummed? thanks for the help!

This is just me, but I play them all using downstrokes, except sometimes I play the 3 (on the A string) twice with a quick strumming action (that might be considered an alternate pick method).
Using all downstrokes gives me the feel that that songs has.
You're only as strong as the tables you dance on.

I use alternate picking whenever two notes are played on the same string consecutively. But like everyone else said, do what you feel is comfortable.
