quick P4WYG question
hey yall...the very first "chords" 9-9,10-10,9-8-
ok...is this part a slide or a hammer-on? I have always played it as a hammer-on, but I cant really get it....so if anyone knows, let me know...
Jared, you have the video, so does he really slide his middle finger up to the 10th frets, or is it a hammer-on with his ring finger?

"DO WHAT YOU THINK SOUNDS THE BEST"
Sorry, isn't that what we're supposed to say? I'm checking the 3/29/03 DVD right now...be with you in a second.

It's definitely a slide. Also, I don't think he just uses his thumb for all the chords. I think he plucks the strings: bass note with the thumb, and the next two strings of the power chord with the first and second finger.

Actually, the video quality is very bad. Literally, the only thing I can for sure decipher is that it is indeed a slide. From the very poor looks of it, he is sliding one finger over the whole fret, but that is like 10% sure
. I always play the high E, but like you debated, it could be Tim playing it.

Yeah, I'm not sure if he has that same DVD, but it is easy to tell that he is plucking those notes. But that slide, you can only even see the very first slide, and it is shaky. And then for the rest of the intro you can't even see Dave. I can't complain about any sort of Dave and Tim DVD, but damn...

I have been playing the intro with only the g and b strings. I guess I never checked the tab here. I was at the 3/29/03 show, and it was definitely a slide. I need to get my hands on some of the DVD's you guys speak of. Also, its definitely a "thumb=>bass note" and fingers one and two for the other strings...and I usually slap in between.....Pluck...slap...pluck...slap...its a cool song....
