Songs that have grown on you

Unread post by mlb1399 » Tue Apr 19, 2005 10:26 am

Well after my friends making me listen to D&T Too Much a lot, I am actually starting to like this tune. I used to hate it, and really do not like it with the band still. But when D&T play it slowed down with the extra funk and the Fame outro it kicks ass. I have even made the effort to learn it on guitar which it looks pretty simple.

Anyone else have songs that they hated or dislike but slowly the song grew on them?

I used to dislike "I did it" (band version) but then listened to "I did it" acoustic version and loved it. I used to dislike the Last Stop but after seeing it live I was a fan.

Me too. I did it on Lost Accoustics is pretty cool. Funny how accoustic makes anything cool.

I have always been a fan of the Last Stop, especially with the Reprise.

Halloween was the first Dave song that grew on me in a big way. I used to always skip the song when it came up on BTCS, but holy cow...it's fucking amazing on that album.

That's funny cause most people like Dave for his upbeat positive melodys/lyrics. You did the opposite!!

I still have no recollection of Halloween being on BTCS.

I know it's there according to people but I don't listen to the studio albums. Let alone one that is 7 years old. However, I will be listening to the new one.

MOST of the songs that are on Everyday grow on me, except for Space Between. It's a sweet song, but just heard too much of it. I liten to I Did It and Mother, Father and actually enjoy them damnit!

So Right is one of my favs on that album.

I Did It is the big one for me

Two songs that i never really dug were dancing nancies and drive in drive out. I didn't start liking nancies until i learned how to play it and now i play it nearly everyday. D.i.d.o. always had me confused about what it was about with dave never really having set lyrics for it. Then, i got a hold of an early 92 show where dave pretty much sings it for the first time(solo) and from then on i love that song. I often use the old old lyrics he used back then.
"They called it Aspen because "buttpencil" was already taken."

Fool To Think. One of the coolest songs I've ever heard Dave play by himself.
