Eastern Instruments

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Eastern Instruments

Unread post by aleceiffel » Fri Apr 15, 2005 3:27 pm

ever since hearing the tea party's juxtaposition of eastern instruments into a western rock setting i've been in love with it. i love them all, sarods, sitars, oads, tars...

but i really want a sarod. anyone know if that's feasable at all, if i'm not interested in putting out thousands for it, i just want one that i can bang away at. anyone know if and where you can find one (uh, do they sell starter sarods?) besides, perhaps, random pawn shops?

Hmmmm, the album jacket credits dave for playing "sitar guitars"

So maybe it was a real sitar?
