"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" Cover (Green Day)

Unread post by GreedylilPig » Sat Apr 16, 2005 12:00 am

I already posted a song tonight so I'm sorry for sort of bombarding the forum (this will be my last post). Anyway, the beer is still tasting good and I'm enjoying playing some tunes (something it seems like I don't have any time to do anymore) and I just didn't feel like calling it a night yet. I decided to do Green Day's "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams." Let me know what you think.

Wow, they were both really good man! Ive never heard you before, but i really liked them, sounded really professional. Im trying to think who you voice reminds me of? Would i be right saying maaybe like Bob Dylan or am i way off? Anyway really enjoyable man, love to hear some more!

You're not crazy, I thought the same thing. Very Dylan-esque.

Fixed. I had re-uploaded the file after I compressed it to 128 kbps rather than 192 kbps so I could fit another song on my webspace. Files didn't match somehow. Should work now.

And thanks for the comments.

I thought you did a pretty damn good job Brian. Its nice to see you posting more recordings. You have a pretty cool voice, reminiscent of Dylan like others said, but you have your own style. I dig it, nice work.

Nice Job!

Sounds like Neil Young more then Dylan too me.

You should try covering a Neil Young song. I bet you would get it perfect.

same deal as the other song. good easy guitar, good voice, very folky (almost country at times). i'm not sure this is the kind of song you should sing w/ your voice. you did a great job w/ it, but i see this song being sung by someone who doesn't have a great voice and just wants somehting easy to throw together.

Does green day use mostly the same chords for all their songs? Sounds like it.

Great cover though. A little too much reverb on the voice for me, but I liked it nonetheless. well done

There are a lot of riffs that are "lifted" ... The opening drums to "Novocaine" is very familiar too :) There's nothing wrong with it IMO.
