A low-quality acoustic recording of So Damn Lucky . . .
was just playing at the coffee shop I attend daily. It was cool- some bongos and Dave. I'd never heard it before. Anybody else heard this?
It had a wierd breakdown that wasn't quite a scat- instead of "so so slide slide around," etc., it went into a riff that wasn't quite as catchy. Not bad, but not nearly as good, either. At the end you can heard Dave laughing.

Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

DAve has never played SDL at the gorge. I don't think he had even written it when he played during Mraz's set break in 2002 either.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

At the Gorge, and Dave steps onstage with Mraz's backup band, he plays Dancing Nancies, Gravedigger (the sad bastard song as he calls it) and does Loving Wings. I have all three on video, it's recorded by 2 people, one is Fenton. I can't give it to you guys or upload though, since I am on 56k, sorry.
Also, I believe So Damn Lucky was written during the Studio Sessions (they did a lot of looping stuff before recording as well as for recording). It also says it's written by Dave and Stephen Harris, so It can't be the Gorge or anytime before Some Devil.

if anyones still looking for this you can get it in the downloads --> video secition of http://www.mrazmerized.com .. that video of gravedigger is what got me into dave, along with the version of two-step from central park that a friend had sent me like a year ago. hope that helps a few out.

Even if it is the dave and trey and baobob version, That version has fine audion quality. Thats one of my favorite versions of the song.

it's not studio quality though.. I'm gonna guess it's the baobob version of it just due to he says the break down isn't quite a scat and in this it's some african thingDavy28 wrote:Even if it is the dave and trey and baobob version, That version has fine audion quality.
