God I was bored today...

Unread post by Teego Time » Mon Apr 11, 2005 12:30 am

So I decided to come up with something fun to play that'd use some of Justin King's techniques. I just came up with this, so I haven't really practiced it. And yes I know I fucked up my own tapping sections lol. sorry about the quality, hope you can hear everything. I'm pretty sure that you're going to miss a lot in the tapping part though. =\

Oh yeah, and I'm aware that this is a blatant rip off of Justin King, and that I'm nowhere near his level blah blah whatever, it was fun.

Oh yeh, first recording btw. I managed to get a camera for today.

Edit: Why the fuck was there a [/code] in there? I never pressed the code button... Oh well, link fixed.

it's not new to justin king. metal guitarists use it alot. Nice recording though. I think the finger work would've come across better witha pickup though.

Thanks for the comment man!

Yeah I know that those techniques aren't Justin's, but it's where I took my inspiration from.

Also, unfortunately I don't have an amp for my guitar, so I'm kinda stuck with this. =\ Maybe I'll give it a try on my electric tomorrow, because I know that tapping will at least come through nicely.

that chord makes me cringe. cringe like the grinch. the tapping seems good although i can barely hear it.

ow, that chord is back...

overall not bad.

its not the actual chord, the recording is just way too treblely and he is a little out of tune.

as for the technique itself teego, you need to work on volume. i noticed that you had your thumb on your left hand WAY above the neck. if you plant it directly behind the neck (which is the way you are supposed to play guitar anyway), you will get a lot more leverage and force to tap those bass notes. it may be difficult to be accurate, but its worth practicing it that way

Good fucking advice. I'll totally practice it that way, as I never really noticed before. Thanks bro!

As far as my chords go... I don't know this tuning very well, and I don't know many chords for it yet. (Except the barr chords, but I think they're borring)

Oh yeah, and I'll see about getting a pickup or something to get the volume up so you can hear it. Maybe I'll go do the tapping section on my electric so ya'll can hear it.
