#41 sounds kind of like a love song to me, but I know that you guys are right about what it's meaning is. Becasue I have read the same thing that you all are saying a bunch. I think I've heard Dave say tha he just couldn't think of names for the songs so he did this, Dave says he has a lack of creativity. Look at the band's name for example.

well I can't remember when or which award, but the Dave Matthews Band did win an award for best band name. Maybe someone can back me up on this, I have a audio recording of them winning it. I actually think it is a wonderful band name.

ok, to set the record straight from the book, step into the light. His mentor (not teacher) who helped Dave in the early days around 1989-1992. He helped inspire songs and other things with Dave. Around the time of 1995, he wanted rights and money from those songs. Ross Hoffman and the band's manager and dave and the band all starting fighting in lawsuits. Dave hated that they were fighting like that. 41 Police (then changed to just #41) was basicly saying "We are we fighting? Why do we have to argue about these little things? Can't we just go out into the rain and play?" And yes, with their soundman, he named songs that DMB or Dave couldn't name, blue water (baboon farm) and heathcliff's haiku warriors. So, Dave and the band were putting their songs in order, and they couldn't find a name, they labeld a song #32 (which then was named Kind Intentions, and copywrited as that name). They came to #34, and just decided to call it that, thinking of no other better names. Then #36 came, and decided to keep it like that too. Then no one said the name for #40, so fans just thought of calling it, in the order of the band's tradition, and called it #40 (some people called it Always, though, but in the end, it was released as #40). Then #41 came along, and they tried to be a little more creative, and said 41 Police, but it didn't fit. So they just did #41. Now, as acording to antsmarching.org, they numbering sstopped soon after #41, and it gets hard to decide which song goes where. Fans had a hard time too, because some songs started to Grow out of the studio, like Let You Down. Some people named Reconcile as #58, but it wasn't that in order at all. So, now expect no numbers.

i piss my brother off when i start the dave speak a little before dave does while listening to that album. he looks at my kinda funny, then dave says it and it all makes sense (kinda)
speaking of which, what is he saying on LC at the end of lover lay down? its sounds something like "i slap so hardly to represent i have a little boobla in me" and then he goes on about the boobla.

You know, i too have always wondered what he says exactly at that point.
Something like "i slapped so hardly it seems i have a little boobo...." I doubt that there's an exact script of that show though.

Does anyone know if tim actually spoke during that show? I've been to two Timmy shows and he said about 7 single words total between both shows.
