Warehouse worth joining?

Unread post by Mikey » Wed Apr 06, 2005 8:15 pm

Alright, heres my dileima. I'm strongly debating joining the Warehouse. I know many people on these boards say they hate the Warehouse and everything it stands for, but on the site itself it seems like an appitizing offer. I am not looking at joining the warehouse specifically for the advanced ticket sales, but for the bonus packages, including the rare live track cd's, etc. Anyone have comments or suggestions about the Warehouse? Any inside information would really help me out. I'm looking at joining (if I join) before May 10th so I can get the upgraded b-side disc with Stand Up.

Thanks in advance for any helpful information,
Peace.

It depends if $35 a year is a lot of money to you. It is not for me, and the membership packages, shot at advance tix, and exclusive CD bonuses make it worth it for me. As well as some advance email updates on things like albums and tours.

I personally think the membership packages are a bit lame. This year's came with a mouse pad that was all shiny, so my ball won't roll on it, and my infared mouse at work bounces off the shininess and my pointer goes berserk...so it's worthless.

And the CDs that come in the packages are decent, but not worth $35 alone.

No. It's a total waste of $$$.

The membership packages are a joke and very cheesy.

There are no real benefits, there are NO guarantees of getting tickets or meet and greets.

Honestly it's just an example of an ingenious money making aparatus from Mr. Capshaw.

After all, we may love the music but we all know that people are the biz of making money.

As far as joining the Warehouse, $35 really isn't that much money. You are not going to get the best seats in the house, but I got a ticker for all 4 shows I requested last year. If you like things like, the membership packages they send out then it might be up your alley. I personally did not renew because I feel I can get just as good tickets buying through ticketmaster, and getting live songs on a cd, well that's not an issue since I trade shows.

Worst case scenario, you spend $35 for a year and if you don't like it then you are out $35. I am sure you have wasted money on worse things before. ;-)

The first year I was in it I got tickets to all three shows I requested. Last year, I don't think I got any or they weren't good seats. If you plan on staying in it for a long time and you're younger, you might as well. If you're only doing it for one year, I don't think it's worth it.

They screw us on tickets every year. We usually catch 6-7 shows a tour but never get any better seats than what you can get by getting on ticketmaster early. I'd say it isn't worth it.

It was worth it from 1998-2000. Now it's def. not, in my opinion. They used to only get great seats. Back then, I ddin't even know ANYONE who got lawn unless they expressly requested it. If you were a first year member, you'd get guaranteed seats within the first ten rows to whatever you suggessted. I know people that have bee in since 98 who got denied or lawn this year. :?

Do most of the people that get denied request multiple shows, and get denied for one or two, or do they only request one show.

I usually make one show a tour and usually get confirmed for that one show.

I was in it for a while.... I really only did it to have a shot at getting D+T tickets the last time around, and I got tickets to both shows I requested. The membership packages and cd's arent worth it at all. You get like one or two extra live songs on the B-side over what you would get if you bought it in a store, and you could just download them anyways.
