Fingering on #40

Unread post by 4monthguitarplayer » Thu Aug 07, 2003 2:30 pm

what fingers do you all use to play number 40?

Code: Select all

E:----------------------0------0--
B:-------1--------1-----1------1--
G:----------------------0------0--
D:----2--------0--------2------2--
A:-3--------2---------------------
E:-------------------1-------3----
   3 2 1 3 1 1 4
I use my thumb for the 3rd part where you hit the first fret on the E string and its alright for me cause you can keep you 1st finger locked on the B string. I was just seeing if there is an easier way or how u all play it?

for the third chord, i use my first finger as it says at the bottom of the tab. third finger for the 2, and second finger for the one.

then, instead of adding my pinky, like it says at the bottom, i just use a C-chord finger position, but just move my third finger down to the low E string. pretty easy. hope that helps.

I play it the exact same way dave plays it.. i originally played the first 2 chords with a C using my pinky, ring and middle, but then switched to dave's style of it..

i keep my middle finger on the b string, my ring on the d, and use my pinky and ring for the a and e strings, that way your hand doesnt have to move
