Fuller #41

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I am not arguing that the tabs are inaccurate. I am trying to help him get the rhythym down. Some people can get it down right away by listening and others struggle at that. That is why we have these forums, to help people that need help beyond the tabs. I am sure that the people that post here realize that you need to look at the tabs and try to play the songs, but sometimes that is not enough.

Dale,

The Chorus:

32x4 gets 2 beats or 2 foot taps
2xx2 gets 2 beats or 2 foot taps
and the 87x9 part gets 4 beats or 4 foot taps

Now I hope after our covnersations you realize that when I say 2 beats or 2 taps that does not mean 2 stums with the guitar. Because there is more guitar strumming than that.

Once again, I don't have my guitar at work but I think it might be something like this:

Do 2 strums on the first 2-3 strings for the first beat and then do a hard strum with the full chord 1 time for the 2nd beat. That goes for both the 32x4 and the 2xx2.

So:

Code: Select all

32x..32x..32x4.......32x..32x..32x4.......
1......&.....2.......3.....&.....4.........
Repeat for the 2xx2 part

I can't remember how the strumming pattern is on the 87x9. Once I get home I can help more.

My apologies, I'm no guitar wizard by any means and I know what it's like to have a simple question, I think I was having a bad day, I'm sorry LOL!

As long as you got the info you need, then we're ALL good.

Peace,
