My band in highschool
My band in highschool
So keep in mind I graduated in 98.
I played in a band with the bassist since I was in pre-school. seriously, we had a band in preschool, then we started playing in a band together freshman year.
The lead guitarist/singer i've also known since I was about 6. He was a grade below us but ripped at a very young age. We never knew it though, he was always this quite freckled mormon kid. Then out of nowhere he got insanely good. I played on the side with the guitarist and also another side project witht eh bassist. Unfortuantely the lead guitarist/singer went on his mormon thingy to Chile. He wasnt a good singer but he was a great songwriter. I just put the cd on my ipod so i thought i'd share.
And music like this is why I have a hard time playing Dave shit.
This is my favorite song, it's definately not technically one of our best, but i just dug it.

This song is a good example of how Drew was a big Van Halen fan and I was a huge strung out fan. The riff is just very strung out and the lead is very van halen, you wouldnt think they would mesh well.

The bass intro to this song was horrible so dont tell me, but I just really dug Drew's solo at the end.

not my style of music, but you guys were very...i hate to say "in sync" but thats what it was...like...it was very well coordinated i guess is a better way to say it. on the first and last songs, the drums seemed to be different from the typical drummin on the particular song, like the first one with the little bell shots(or whatever it is on the curved up part of the ride). yeah so i cant tell you if its good cuz i dont like that style...but it sounded professionally done, good job. thanks for sharin

Ya, the first time I saw him play he plugged in his Les Paul and ripped out Van Halen's Eruption note for fucking note. This was when he was 16 and I was 17. He seriously could play every van halen song written.bassman462 wrote:its pretty good. you can tell that its a highschool band. sounds like the stuff that was comeing from the band i was in for awhile. and ya that bass intro sucks. that is a cool solo at the end though.

I knew you was cool, but considering we both graduated the same year, I feel bonded with you know. Not homoerotically of course, heh heh.
Anyway, I dig this shit.
Peace,
