Help With Purchasing New Guitar
Help With Purchasing New Guitar
hey guys, ive been using this site for all my dave tab needs and its awsome, and i jsut registered with the boards and i have a question. I have been playing guitar for about 4 1/2 to 5 years now. with a year in the middle there where i barely played, but i have an acoustic Ibanez AW100 like the one shown here...
http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guitar.asp?model=AW100
and well i think its about time for a new guitar, and my budget isnt very high because im only 17 and work at dead end fast food, but was considering jsut trading in my Ibanez and buying sumthing like a Taylor or Martin but didnt know if it was gunna be too expensive. im looking for an acoustic/electric cuz i really want to start recording, and i would like a cut away so could anybody maybe give me some suggestions
thanks a ton

we need a price range.
I suggest going to http://www.froogle.com and price stuff there.
Also, if the ibanez is your first guitar please dont trade it in, you'll regret it in 10 years.

all i'm saying is that this kid probably doesnt want a guitar that is "not too bad"
also, i have yet to play an epiphone acoustic that played well. I was about to buy one online and then I played my friends and then played abnother one and scrapped that idea.

yea exactly, i played the fender before i purchased my alvarez, so that pretty much explains which one is better in my opinioncheckii wrote:point being, both fenders you described as "POS" and "not too bad"wkpggrvn2001 wrote:a dude i jam with has a fender acoustic it's not too badBigSpeen3436 wrote:Have you heard any of my recordings? seriously, my gf got that guitar for $180.00 shipped, it sounds incredible for that price, I wanna buy it off her (because she never plays) for a beater becasue for the price and the sound, you cant beat it at all.checkii wrote:I am soooo glad I got my alvarez.bassman462 wrote:i think alvarez's are really the way to go, they give you alot for the money. i hate ibanez's.
and really all i have heard about the RF8 is that they are fucking awesome for a $200 guitar. That's my next purchase so I can have a travel guitar.

i mean for the price range it really varies on how awsome the guitar is for the price, wut im looking for is something that is gunna sound good wether its plugged in or not, and yes the Ibanez is my first guitar, so maybe i wont trade it in, cuz its the first guitar i've ever played. i mean the price im looking for is maybe around 500 give or take a 100 or so, i can always save up for a month or so if its more pricey, im just looking for sumthing more profesional sounding, i have a lot of problems with my strings buzzing on the fretboard even when im not playing hardand ive tried all types and brands of strings, ive been asked to play at a lot of local parties and as a backup for a guy who does a lot of local gigs in and around town but have resisted cuz of the sound of my guitar. My local guitar shop matches the prices in catalogs and websites so if i find a good deal sumwhere i can jsut buy from them
thanks
thanks
