So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Just wanted to say hi and tell you all how excited I am to have found this site! I am looking forward to learning the guitar. Dave has inspired me to try. Watching some of the vids on this site really gives me goosebumps. I want to play his music so bad. I can play a little of crash and satellite so far and I was wondering if any one has any ideas on some easier stuff i can practice on? Anyway, Ill be on the boards and I'm pumped to be here. Peace :D

We should make a stickied post of good begginer songs, but for now try....

Grey Street, Proudest Monkey, Typical Situation, Song that jane likes, #41 (verse and chorus are pretty easy, but intro is a stretch)

those are just off the top of my head ill try and think of more later.

Try Gravedigger thats pretty easy. Watchtower too. So much to say, after a little while is pretty easy, and once u get a bit confident try Jimi thing. Christmas song was the first Dave song i learnt, sounds sooo sweet too. Hope that helps

The first ones I learned were Granny, Lie in Our Graves Verse, and Proudest Monkey. I will stick to those, I still have trouble strumming Granny like Dave does.

I think Granny is a great starter song.

It's got some normal chords, some "Dave" chords, and then the Trippin' Billies/Grey Street-esque chords all in the same song.

And Welcome to DMBTabs :)

Welcome.

Good beginner songs should be a part of the FAQ with links to the tabs/videos.

learn grey street first.. and if you practice the way dave plays it in the beginning, it will be easier, but its hard at first

keep practicing
and all the little ants are marching..
