Recording using Computer
I was interested in recording some stuff on my upright bass, but I do not have a 4-track or a digital mixer. I downloaded some....less than legal copies of protools and cakewalk pro audio that I could use once I got the stuff onto my computer, but I was wondering if there is a way to plug my standard input/output jack into some sort of USB hookup to record directly into the computer.

Go to Radio Shack. Ask for a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch reducer. Guitar to Soundcard cable.MahlerGrooves wrote:I was interested in recording some stuff on my upright bass, but I do not have a 4-track or a digital mixer. If you want to start recording with a better quality you might want to invest in an Audio Interface. Somthing that goes from 1/4 to USB...I won't recomend 1/4. Go with a connection that is balanced TRS or XLR...because with those their is a better signal and less noise to signal ratio. An M-Audio will get you at $150. G
