American Baby Video Download - Live on Australian TV
From the late night show called Rove Live, good quality video. Oh and Dave completely messes up the first line of the song.

A friend and I were discussing how we all think DMB is a great band, and we were also discussing how there are many people that HATE DMB and I have an idea as to why some folks might not want to expand their musical horizons into DMB land.
Most people are only exposed to DMB's live music potential on t.v. in their apperances on the late night shows, Leno, Letterman, Aussie t.v. in this case, whatever - I've never seen a great t.v. performance once from the band.
I don't like this song, I think it's boring.
Dave is obviously working out, good for him.

I agre, when I think of DMB live I picture Dave belting out the "HOOOWWWLLLLLLL!!!!!!" from Watchtower.c_tietze wrote:A friend and I were discussing how we all think DMB is a great band, and we were also discussing how there are many people that HATE DMB and I have an idea as to why some folks might not want to expand their musical horizons into DMB land.

Live on TV he is much more conservativce vocally and musically.
how bout that letterman #41 when they didnt even play the intro, they just started off with "come see....."
just gopes to show that the listening public is stupid and impatient.

I agree, DMB is one of the few "big acts" that plays better live. They trim and and trim their tunes and often look terribly nervious or uncomfortable on t.v. (at least Dave does).checkii wrote:I agre, when I think of DMB live I picture Dave belting out the "HOOOWWWLLLLLLL!!!!!!" from Watchtower.c_tietze wrote:A friend and I were discussing how we all think DMB is a great band, and we were also discussing how there are many people that HATE DMB and I have an idea as to why some folks might not want to expand their musical horizons into DMB land.

Most popular music is marketed so adeptly in print, radio, t.v. - it'sensory overload! These bands don't even usually play live shows (maybe it's more difficult to lip sync in an ampitheater?)
EDIT: Yeah, I saw an old Leno clip (could be Letterman, I forgot), but anyway they're playing a track from BTCS, it might be DDTW - TERRIBLE! Honestly one of the worst performances I've ever heard or seen from DMB. If I wasn't a fan I'd be totally turned off by this one.
Of course there is one definite gem w/regards to t.v. apperances.
Dave solo on Charlie Murphy playing the Stone! One of my favorite versions of any DMB song played on t.v.

Dude, the PJ pants. Man, now I feel old. Look how far the guys have come, all grown up. Heh heh.jsgksu wrote:I liked their WWYS off of SNL, they played the jam, dave was rocking the pj's. But I can agree with you for the most part.
It nearly went south of cheese when the band went all Armani for ED. What a fucking image trainwreck.
