Bit torrent Firewall

Unread post by dmfollower » Tue Mar 22, 2005 7:08 pm

Sorry but does someone know what you need to set your firewall for bit torrent? I had it once but i had to do a system restore and now i think it got reset. I'm lame at computers, there was a post that show'd exactly how to do it and i think i'm gonna need that post. If anyone has it i'd love to see it cause i can't dl the melbourne show without it.
Thanks soo much in advance!

in your address bar type 192.168.1.1 if you have a linksys router.
in your address bar type 192.168.0.1 if you have a dlink router.

IN lynksys got to applications & gaming. Set Port range from 6881 to 6999,

Make sure you assign your ip address.

range numbers should be 6888-6999 make sure that the two boxes are checked also. And youll need the last 2 digits of your IP address, just go to run, type in cmd then when the dos prompt comes up type in ipconfig and it will tell you your ip address.

6881 is the standard start of the bit torrent range, it's only 6888 if you've changed the default

Im fucking retarded, you have to go into the torrent program itself and specify which ports it uses. All this time all I had to do was change that within bittornado, now I get green lights. Wow.
