Anybody like old Bartender more?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

honestly I never really cared for Bartender but I much prefered the older versions than the new versions.

I like Bartender-->DDTW best, but more so because I like that version of DDTW better than the band versions and because it has the cool story. The Busted version would be goo if it wasn't so damn long and draggy. "I'm not so into the "nine-minute-last-song-on-the-album" thing.

I can't say that I liked the old Bartender more... in fact I like the current one a loooot (that's just an extended "lot", i'm not referring to booty of any kind), like I said in my post after the concert we went to a couple weeks ago, it gave me shivers. literally. was shaking. it was scary.

 found the reclarification extremely amusing. ;)

anyway...yeah, the screaming may be redundant when you're listening to recordings, but when you experience it live...man.

close enough to see dave's neck strain. definitely got the chills.

WARNING: I'M ABOUT TO GET OFF TOPIC, please delete this if you want to, it won't hurt my feelings.

While we're talking about the old D+T, I'm trying to get it down and i was just wondering how dave strums the old one, I think I have it, but I'm not sure.

I just go 03---- to 05---- back and forth with hammerons and pulloffs. I do the same for the rest of the song. It is strummed only with down strumms, like power chords on an electric.

Here's two ways you can actually play it, both with a constant up-down strum...

Code: Select all

E|-----------------------------------
B|-----------------------------------
G|-----------------------------------
D|-----------------------------------
A|----5---5---5---5---5---5---5---5--
E|--0---0---0---0---4---4---5---5----

E|--------------------------
B|--------------------------
G|--------------------------
D|--------------------------
A|--5--5--5--5--5--5--5--5--
E|--0--0--0--0--4--4--5--5--
And as he said, there are hammer on's and pull-offs in the same places that he does them in the new version.
