should i have bought it?

i went to guitar center yesterday... bad idea, i know. they have an early 70's Martin d-28 12 string for $1100. there's one 3 inch scratch in the back that doesn't affect the sound, otherwise it's in great shape. it sounds amazing and looks great--i love how the finish ages on martins. i think i could talk them down to 900-1000 for it. is that a good price? also i have to consider i have student loans to pay off, i'm about to start med school so i won't have much time to play it, and i just got a nice new 6 string for graduation. what do ya'll think?

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.
