American Baby & More Video Tablature

Unread post by DMBGuru » Sat Mar 19, 2005 8:47 pm

I really held out a while to actually come out and say something about it, because I really didn't want to seem like I was coming here just to advertise. I've been using this site for about 5 years, when I first started playing the guitar, back when the site was very minimalistic and only recently became a member because I've always had my own sites and never had time to join others.

However, since I've been posting here a couple of days, people have been clicking the link in my signature and have come to me on AIM and through the contact form on my website and have given me very positive comments about the video tablature that I have up at my site ( http://www.dmbfan.com/ ).

So, I just wanted to make a little topic to let anyone else know that I have quite a few videos (40 as of now) on how to play many songs, through videos. Among these are videos for American Baby, including Boyd's Mandolin fill played on both mandolin and guitar. The site is still being compiled, especially the lyrics section, etc. I plan on getting it done soon, and when it is done, I plan on having 150+ videos on the site spanning almost every DMB song. Please realize that because of the quality of the video's picture and audio, it may take a little while to load (about 10-15 seconds on a VERY fast connection). All you need to do is go to http://www.dmbfan.com/tablature and click the button there.

Please realize that I love this website, and learned to play guitar BECAUSE of this website. I am not trying to exploit any of the members here and I am not obligating anyone to do anything, but I think that I could offer a relatively useful resource the members here, seeing as most play guitar.

Thank you very much :)

Don't feel bad. I plug my site daily.

But, if anybody would get mad I would feel sorry for them. DMB is a community, not restricted to one place. I have always loved this site & I call it home for DMB related disucussion & resources. But, the videos here have been lacking. Jkanter did a great job in the beginning but IM sure he got waaayyy to busy to update the videos. That's where some of the members step in and help out. I checked your site & think it is great. I like how the videos are easily attainable & they look good too.

But, I wouldn't feel bad. There is no copyright on helping people.

Thank you so much for your kind response :) I love how the people here are so nice... if I had said anything of the sort at what was the Bridge, I would have been castrated within moments, lol. Even Ants may have taken me badly.

There are some jackasses here too. Including me! :)

But like I said.... This is the internet, you took a concept & made it better than the existing one. I don't see a problem with that.

Thank you very much :) I do what I can, lol.

Do you guys think that once I release it with full lyrics, dowloads, tabs, etc, it will become as popular as this site?

gumbomadness: I have 3 guitar hangers on the wall. I hang my black Hohner HW300G, natural Vito 701-F, and the one that I play in the videos, the Fender GA45SCE. Then I also have the ovation mandolin and a Gibson Special Faded SG that I have in a guitar stand on the floor.

Beauford33: I plan on having very accurate tabs, I already have quite a few that I found on DMBTabs that were less accurate than what I have on my computer for DMBFan. I tend to be a little obsessive about getting stuff as accurate as possible.

Ranting Thespian: What are you talking about?

Hey, you gotta strive for perfection. Only way success will come. But you should get the tabs for some songs up . You have videos, but no tabs.

I have a lot of tabs, just not on the site. I haven't had time to sit down and just do it. I really should have been doing that instead of posting here... but hey, this is much more fun ;)
