Wanna see DMB? Then DON'T SPEED! (as seen on nancies)

here's a carbon-copy for you, already posted on nancies (i needed to vent...again)

So my brother gave me a DMB ticket for the vanouver show tomorrow for my birthday, which was kickass, o'course. Our plans were to wake up at 4am and then take a road trip, see the show, stay at a hostel, then drive back home.
On the way from my house to his, an officer flags us over, along with four or five other cars at the bottom of a hill. Turns out we were speeding. Now, my brother just flew in from Ontario & was exhausted & just wanted to get home to sleep. He explained this to the officer & that he had to get up at 4am. The cop seemed simpathetic so he goes to his little car & scribbles on his little doodle pad. He comes back and says "You're just at the bottom. You were going 76(km) in a 60 zone. Here's a ticket for $103." This wouldn't be a huge problem, except that my brother needs $500 for a new house, $300 to fix his car, and he needs new tires. So he calls his wife when we get home, and it turns out we can't afford to go on the trip. My parents offered to pitch in, but they were broke after giving me my spending money, and neither my brother nor i wanted to put them down deeper. So we stayed in, ate pizza & watched a movie. I'm not going to see my hero tomorrow night, and i doubt i'll get the chance to see them again for a long long time (i'm moving to where they don't tour near). and we also have two wasted tickets. the wasted money on them isn't the problem, just simply that they won't be used. i was also really looking forward to buying some dmb stickers if they sold them.
but here's the catch. my mother later told us that she had a bad feeling all morning about us going, so she prayed about it all day. & when this happened, for some reason something told me not to pray to allow us to go, but to trust on God that things work out. So i could look at this as an incredibly crappy event, but i look at it as God working in his wierd ways. you don't have to believe it, but that's alright.
anyways, if there was a possible way, i've got a ticket for someone to use for august 5th. as of writing, the show is exactly 19 hours away. s'all yours, if you can find a miracle. sorry there's no sooner notice, but, you know.

haha, okay, i'll make a condensed version:
we got a ticket & this made our budget too tight to go. but i'm okay about it because it turns out mom had a bad feeling about us going, so if you look at this as a fatalist, it's probably for the best.
