Taylor 314ce ltd koa

Unread post by QuattroDore » Mon Aug 04, 2003 8:39 pm

Anyone played them? I had a chance today and they seemed pretty sweet. The ltds this summer have koa back and sides and come with the expression system. The store had it priced at 1650. Do the knowledgable ones here think that is a good deal?

I'm itching to buy a new guitar with money I don't have, so any input is greatly appreciated.

that seems a little expensive. they are great guitars even though they dont have quite the cosmetic appeal of the K series.

$1650 is not a good deal. I've seen these go for around $1300

See if you can get that guitar for cheaper....YOU MUST GET THAT GUITAR. It is a KOA, back and sides, and a spruce top(right?). Every single video from this website was recorded with one of those. And that was just plugged into a basic camera, with a fishman pickup. Now imagine to put that into a mixer->computer, newer strings, and an expression system. Honestly, it is an amazing guitar and such a dream to play. A lot of peopel here can probably attest to it that I LOOOOOOVE KOA guitars. They just have such a mellow chill sound....just like Hawaiians(sp?). Get it for cheaper if you can...if you can't get the guitar.

Of course, play it and see if you like it :)

Yeah, a spruce top, all koa body, expression system and it was pretty smooth ass. I would probably lean towards that right now, but I don't want to pay list. Its a smaller guitar store though, so there might be some room for some wheelin' and dealin'.

1650 is a bit out of my range.

I think bigger stores offer better deals, at least where I live. Maybe get to know the guys and go in the store and play it all the time and always say how you just can't afford it. As my english teacher would say, use an emotional appeal to persuade them of your plight.

Yeah, I should have a little pull there, as I bought my strat and amp there a year ago. We'll see.

Find the Taylor dealers in your area and see which one will go lower. They want your business so you make them compete with each other. You can find them on ebay for $1300 but they won't have the Taylor warranty. Ofcourse, if you know how to take care of the guitar you won't really need a warranty.
I've been pretty happy with my 314K but I just traded it for a Taylor W65. It'll be here Friday.

Taylor's aren't sold over the internet. You need to go to stores to play em

Dude...I got a brand new 814ces for $2,100...I would never spend those kinda bucks for a 300 w/ koa back...
