if you have ever been on ebay, you see the WATCH THIS ITEM icon...wellwhy can we WATCH THIS THREAD - sticky button

say I want these threads on the top of the list...just click a button and make em' sticky so they are on top until you unsticky them...kinda like the NEW POST thing...or maybe just a FLAG for WATCH THIS THREAD...

would it be possible and even a good idea at all?

It's already available. Click the "Add To Favorites" link at the bottom of a thread. It will then be added to your Favorites list which can be accessed at any time from the link at the top of the boards.

Right now the favorites don't say whether there are new posts or not though. It always shows the orange icon which means new posts...but that' regardless of new posts. I am looking into manually modding that
