One might notice that his solos on Jimi thing, Crush, Raven, And AATW/Listener Supported are all the same, just at different speeds and rhythms. Other solos are the same as these, just in different keys.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

exactly, while he does have his moments, his best work lies in his background melodies (stone ,crush) his solos get very redundant and tend to get on my nerves after a while.Davy28 wrote:One might notice that his solos on Jimi thing, Crush, Raven, And AATW/Listener Supported are all the same, just at different speeds and rhythms. Laughter come on downtown window
And we see faces walking back
Tonight everybody gonna remember
Remember in time...

i'd love to hear this recording. seriously, do it!gcom007 wrote:he constantly goes out of tune, his tone is terrible, it's always screeching, never clean, he tries to do these double stops all the time and fails miserably resulting in even more screeching, plus his solo's are just boring to me, if you really listen to him, he's hardly doing anything, just playing the same notes in the same position the whole time while he hacks away with his bow like he's cutting down a tree. I literally have played with 7 or 8 other violinists that just can play circles around Boyd. I can make a recording with my one friend sometime if you'd like...we could have an interview where he talks about all the ways that Boyd sucks and then we'll play a few DMB tunes and you'll see how someone who actually knows what they're doing sounds like.fatjack wrote:good call isaac. simplicity is the best part of life...isaac wrote:
ah well. i love simplicity. our lives are complicated enough as it is...i mean, damn, not to abandon my already non-existent masculine side, but a lot of us aren't even amazed just by looking out at the stars anymore. "everybody knows, it sucks to grow up."
[/end random tangent.]
and perhaps gcomm you could give me a better explanation as to why he sucks so bad... just wanna know your train of thought so that i may better understand

maybe not, it just depends, he's pretty busy and as soon as school starts back up again I'll be busy. the only reason I'm around a lot now is because I can't get a job in this stinking state of michigan, but we'll do it sometime...it could be tomorrow, it could be next week, it could be in a few months, but we shall do it...we actually might have some old one's lying around that we made back in high school.isaac wrote:i have to wait months for this thing? ah well. it'll be cool to hear whenever you get it down.

very cool. and yeah, school does manage to take over your life. rather sucks. but i'm going to save myself the random outburst complaining about the state of our education system. anyway, sounds good. don't forget to drop us a nice little link when it all happens.gcom007 wrote:maybe not, it just depends, he's pretty busy and as soon as school starts back up again I'll be busy. the only reason I'm around a lot now is because I can't get a job in this stinking state of michigan, but we'll do it sometime...it could be tomorrow, it could be next week, it could be in a few months, but we shall do it...we actually might have some old one's lying around that we made back in high school.isaac wrote:i have to wait months for this thing? ah well. it'll be cool to hear whenever you get it down.
