Unread post by filmdude100cms » Fri Mar 04, 2005 10:14 pm

alright, guess what?! my guitar is fucking up again and i dont know what to do, suprise suprise. anyway for about 3 weeks when i try to restring it the E1 string will bust, i noticed in the nut that the slot for that string was messed up, so i took it to the geetar store and he said it didnt need to be replaced he could just file it down, well that worked, and he got it back to me strung and all... then a week later i go to string it and the e1 pops, i get 3 more, 2 break i say fuck it on the last one. then i pull out old faithful last night, my vinci's and i string it up, get the E6 up and good, go to A and it pops, ive got some new strings and need to fix this guitar please help me.

no, if you;re using meds thats not the problem... did you check for like protrusions from the nut/saddle that would weaken the string?

Is the string actually breaking, or is it just becoming unwound?

If it's actually breaking, it might be that your neck has become incredibly arched or longer in recent days?? lol

^^^It's probably related to what praisedave is asking about, or at least that would be my guess ;-)

the core breaks so on the unwound string it breaks, the wound strings the core snaps the rest wants to say and i cant salvage it.
