problems restringing

Unread post by Easy E » Mon Jul 28, 2003 8:59 pm

Ok, ever since i got my new guitar i havent been able to successfully restring it. My last guitar I strung with no problems 5 or 6 times. Do I need a different gauge string or what, I don't understand what the problem is.

well what is the problem exactly? You'll have to go into further detail for any help.

Ya, you need to give us more. Strings snapping? What kind of guitar is it and what kind of strings are you putting on it?

the main problem i used to have was just tightening that damned high e-string too tight, and snapping it.

make sure the tuning knobs have a good hold on the string...it'll make a world of difference.

i would try to find a link to help you, but i'm too lazy.

go to http://www.google.com and type in something like "how to string a guitar"
