So I'm writing a song with some slapping and fingerpicking, and there's a switch that I can do a number of ways, but haven't quite found which feels best to me. Which way would you guys do it?
Code: Select all
s = slap
p = palm mute/slap
e:----------x---------x---------x------0-x-0-x-0-
b:------10--x------9--x------5--x------0-x-0-x-0-
g:-----9----x-----9---x-----4---x-----1--x---x---
d:----9-----x----9----x----2----x----2---x---x---
a:----------x---------x---------x--------x---x---
E:--9-------x--7------x--5------x--0-----x---x---
u:--s-------p--s------p--s------p--s-----p---p---
The trouble I'm having is the switch from the first chord to the second. I typically use my thumb on the E string, and barre the 9's with my pinky... Or my ring finger... But I can also do it by putting my index on the 7, and barre the 9's with my ring finger.. *shrug* I dunno, how would you do it?

I'd use my middle finger for the low e, make a bar withe the ring finger for the d and g and use my pinky for the b string. That way you can keep you ring finger planted for the bar and use your index to fret the low e.

i would barre with my middle, keep my index finger on 7 during the first chord and then for the switch just move my middle down on the fretboard and bingo
