Need some help w/ my new pedal

Unread post by Appfro » Mon Feb 21, 2005 3:37 pm

I got a new pedal from my uncle. it's the digitech rx400 or 4000 or something. anyway, i'm supposed to be able to hook it up via usb to my computer and play through it to the recording software. they gave me protracks w/ the device, that's what you're supposed to use. but i don't like it. i use adobe audition (which is exactly the same as cool edit pro). i can get what i already on the screen to play through the pedal (through the headphones hooked up to the pedal), but i can't get what i play through the pedal to record on the program. anyway use this and know what my settings have to be?

under recording settings, i've changed the input to digitech 1/2 (in/out) and digitech 3/4 (in only), neither work. i've changed input devices to usb 1 and usb 2 neither work. i don't really know what i'm doing so if anyone can help, I appreciate it.

the pedal definetly supports it, but im sayin the software may not support the pedal. try usin the regular output and your cpus mic or line in

i wanted to run it through the usb cause it practically gets rid of all exra noise, but maybe you're right. maybe i can run my pedal into my amp then run that into my line in.

but then that kind of defeats the purpose of having the pedal. i'm only using it because of the recording quality and the pre-programmed drum beats. the effects on it aren't all that awesome. i don't know, it's pissing me off.

why would you run it into your amp? thats where your gettin the noise... straight from pedal to cpu is the way to be

anyway you get it in is fine, theyre shouldnt be any noise, and if there is you can get rid of that with the software.

ok, i got it to work...sounds awesome. gotta play w/ the mix a little, but overall, great stuff. but now i have one more problem. the pedal has a mic input on the back so i just assumed...hook up and record. not the case. when i hook up the mic, i can hear it through the headphones (not a suprise, they're hooked up to the pedal as well), but it doesn't record. i'm stumped again. i quit playing w/ it for the night cause i was getting annoyed, but i'm goign to try again tomorrow. any suggestions?
