and dave, of course, is cool, because he's making use of what he has to the best of his abilities. i have small hands too, and it took me forever to get those stretches down, but it's worth it.
yeah, I am thinking that I must have just a little bit bigger hands than Dave, because songs like Satellite dont give me any trouble, and I heard that after playing that song he kinda stretches his fingers around for a second. #41 was realy easy for me...but Captain...that one can get painful.
and yeah, mayer's fingers are freakishly long...but i dont know if his hands are necessarily big...on some little videos of him you can see his fingers well, and it is freaky lookin..

hands, fingers, they're all attached.
#41 wasn't too bad at all, though. haven't actually tried captain. i see your little avatar that you're making the first chord to #41 though.

at least, that's what i'm assuming.
and mayer's just genetically interesting. those faces when he plays...talk about constipation.

it always seems like dave is doing to much with his fingers when he plays, have you seen his hands when he does Rhyme and Reason, mine barely move...

HendrixWS wrote:First of all Claptons guitar is amazing especially the brazilian one. Dave's guitar isn't like any other Martin his is completely original and beautiful. I'm thinking about buying the Mayer model as a buisness oppurtunity because I can get it for about 2900 at Guitar center. Look at Daves model came out you could get it for 2500 and now it cost about 3500. I dunno Mayers career is going nothing but up, and hes an exceptional guitar player.
the standard clapton is not amazing at all, it's just an OM28V with a larger pickguard and a finished neck with a few fancy aesthetic changes, except everyone pretty much unanimously agree's that the OM28V still sounds a lot better, Mayer's is similar to clapton's but it has even more adornments, dave's is like an HD-35V basically that has different shade's of wood...these guitars all look cooler than their cheaper counterparts, but as the guys at elderly (and if you don't know that elderly knows, then you just don't know) and even martin say, often the adornment's take away from the sound. the martin rep directly said artist models are glitz and glamour while the standard guitars really are the workhorses.
edit: the brazilian rosewood clapton costs $4000 more than the standard clapton. does it play better? a little bit, the wood reacts well. does it look better? a little bit. is it worth even close to $4000 more it sells for than the standard model? NOT A CHANCE!!!!! Sit there and play them all back to back...put an HD-35 and an OM-28V up against any sig guitar respectively to dreadnaught and auditorium and the standards will most likely sound better.

see, there's a difference. dave's taking a steamer, mayer's either constipated or there's something going on in his pants that i don't wanna know about. *cringes again* must be from all those tube tops.

if you're putting a lot of emotion into playing, you're going to look stupid...why don't you go make fun of SRV...he's only one of the greatest guitars to live and he makes mayer look regular...

just having a bit of fun, mate. putting emotion into things and looking at least somewhat silly while doing it is underappreciated, but it's why we love the artists that we do.

you may believe that and I agree, it's cool and humorous at times, but I don't think everyone here feels the same way...cough...billywestom...cough...
