Site Videos

Unread post by StickyMU » Mon Oct 14, 2002 1:07 pm

This is going to sounds kinda dumb, but I can only hear sound on the videos from the site. I don't get the picture. This happens with the avi's on this site and mpeg's from other sites. It also doesn't seem to matter if I'm playing them in Windows Media Player or in Winamp. Any thoughts? I've tried downloading DIVX codecs, but to no avail. Maybe I haven't found the right one, who knows. Any help is much appreciated.

On another note, people are saying that you should play what is easiest for you as long as it sounds good. My roommate is big into punk music and plays alot of power chords. He taught me to play Ants marching by barring the G and D chords. That was so much easier for me when I just started out. While I've learned to play it the traditional way since, it showed me that I can get that "Dave" sound even I don't play it exactly like he does.

Is there literally no picture, or just one still frame throught the file?

I experienced the latter before reinstalling Divx 5.0 for some reason (though I could have sworn I had already installed it previously).

I had been getting just the one frame and then music. I reinstalled the new Divx and now it's working great. In fact, I've already made alot of progress on tripping billies thanks to that video. Thanks for the info. Have a good one.
