Going to start playing more gigs
Two other guys and me are going to start playing some gigs, im playing rhythm, the other dude is playing lead, and one guy is going to sing and he plays harmonica, what do you think we should play? it would be cool to a big list of songs we can start working out, put down what you think would sound good with this set up. We are obviously considering some dylan and young hence the harmonica, but anything else, not specifically with a harmonica in it, that would get pretty monotonous having a harmonica in every song, so put down anything and everything here
Thanks
edit: some definite songs we are working on so far, are king of pain - the police (the lead also plays keyboard/piano), my my hey hey, oh sister by dylan, old man by neil young, and true love waits - radiohead

Definately do Watchtower. I heard dave and Tim do it live with John Popper as a special guest. I think it was 2001 at UCONN, but It sounded awesome, and popper did one of the solos, just perfect.
Also What would you say would be a good one, Rodeo Clowns from Philadelphonic (not the JJ only version), and ummmm, I lovew felicia and canadian rose by blues traveler.

yea blues traveller, i never thought of that for some reason, jack johnson would definitely be cool, we are definitely going to do some originals, i made that a point, i dont really want to play in a cover band, it would be fun to mix in covers, but not all covers. thanks for songs everyone keep them coming

yea we talk about to taking covers chaning some time sigs and giving some standard songs a reggae sound basicallly just fuck around with stuffcheckii wrote:Otis redding?
Anyways, I dont see anything wrong with playing covers, just make them sound unique and different, don't mimic 100%, i hate that unless it is a tribute band.
