how to fast downstroke like the ramones

Unread post by scatterbrain » Sun Feb 13, 2005 7:47 pm

after i've watched others strum this particular way, i've been practicing. just like regular strumming, i let all the action come from my wrist and i'm relaxed too. but i must be doing something wrong because i feel a strain/tension on my outer forearm when i practice. any tips on how to get this strum down would be greatly appreciated!

just keep doing it. your forearm will get sore cause you are using a musclke you havent used before, you can always try playing like how billie joe does and just pull/push up and down using your elbow.

thanks! for the past hour i've been practicing and i feel i'm making progress. the only thing i'm doing differently is adding slight motion from the elbow and it seems to be helping
