fingers are better than pics

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

not really, fingernails only come in handy if you are playing a classical guitar with nylon strings...

pffft. well, there doesn't seem to be good reason to regret it, then. whether pick or fingers each has their own need for skill.

I just like the feel of the strings on my fingers...I play with a pick, but just not as often. Those who wonder about strumming Ants and GS, stuff like that, I think I have a semi-unnatural way which is a combination of a brush and an index-thumb strum. It just feels right to me.

I usually always play with a pick cause that's how i was tought, but if i wanted to fingerpick i can cause playing piano for 5 years really gets you're fingers into shape

The bottom line is that fingers vs. picks is a personal thing. Some like picks, some don't. It's a choice.

I prefer picks for most songs. I like the feel with a pick better and I prefer the sound. I get my guitar playing roots from Metallica and Alice in Chains and stuff on an electric so I still lean to using a pick. I can finger pick a bit though and do on some songs...

BTW, nail biting totally grinds my gears. My wife makes me mental when she does it.

I rarely use picks unless I'm playing around someone or with my pianist friend so I can be heard over him. I almost always use my thumb to strum and I also fingerpick alot of stuff. I just wish my thumb and fingers could produce a louder sound.

I normally keep the pic in the palm of my hand while picking if I wanna do that..
