First off, I'm actually not a lead guitarist, I play rhythm guitar most of the time. But I've got into playing scales and solos a year ago or so.
this is a little solo I played along with a riff of one of my original songs. The guitar is an epiphone standard. Please have a listen (and a look) and tell me what you think.

Please don't tell me I struggle with vibratos, I know I do...

Too plain. You add way too many bends. Mix it up a bit. You started of play like the same thing, and just like moving your finders around the neck. It got kinda old. Try to incorporate more slides in there. Also, from like :58 until like the next 20 seconds, it was pretty bad, I'm not going to lie. But the whole thing wasn't terrible, I've heard worse. It was just too cliché for me I guess. No real sense of originality.
Keep playing though, it's the only way to improve.

I'm aware of these slips towards the end, when I got out of scale a bit.
Thanks for your comment man, I know I'm spare with slides and I shall try to change that.

there were some nice parts, add more speed toward the middle. overall, not bad at all.

ehhh, a little to cliche for me. Althought it had good points.. think about this..
try to not use that hammeron-bend-hammer on bend thing to much.. try a few runs.. and arpeggios are good too for solos.
It wasnt bad tho.
Also, dont be afraid to improvise down in your lower register, (a bassist once told me this) playing down on your E and A and D gives solos a meaty kind of sound to it, and are good when you are doing a run, and you go from low low strings all the way up THEN kick it up with those bends.
what are you wearing? asian jumping suit?
" I give up on this six string shit. "

"playing the notes of a chord consectutively" is the textbook definition.
Example:
Code: Select all
E---------------
B--------1------
G------0---0----
D----2-------2--
A--3------------
E---------------

Actually I think a slight bit of distortion, and maybe a few horn riffs would make this sound better

i think the problem with this solo is the lack of use of the fretboard.
break out of the pentatonic and explore
all in all not bad

do something other than vibratos and change it up a bit, you basically just played random note from the scale with some weird bends. change your picking style a bit, do some trem picking and experiment with some different mini chords (hit more than one string at once) not horrible though
