play bass on an acoustic guitar?

play bass on an acoustic guitar?
anyone have any tips on how to play an acoustic guitar like playing a bass...ie in the style of tim reynolds...see crush video for source.

if what im getting at is correct, and what you mean by playing bass is kinda like finger picking, then no hand touching the body. on bass resting your thumb on the pickup is acceptable (:P). but like on the guitar you use your thumb for finger picking and such. if you're going to just play with your index and middle, you might as well just place your thumb on the top of the body or by the strings. i was told to never rest your hands on the body or else they would get lazy and such, so im pretty strict that wayHCHaikuWarrior wrote:so you don't want your hand touching the body at all?
