jkanter wrote:mbgreen.....that kind of language is NOT WANTED AROUND HERE. I've said it before and I DO NOT want stuff like this going through the board. Yes, I understand you were sticking up for Fire...and I'm with you....but do it completly differently.

Now gcomm, I talked to you about this last night as it was going on. I don't know why you needed to make a big deal about it. Fire said the same thing I told you.....it's music that Dave Matthews created. Whether it's a REAL SONG or not is irrelevant. It's NO ONE here's fault that the clip is out or that whoever got arrested for IEM recording was arrested. People get clips and enjoy them because it's "new" MUSIC from their favorite band. Like I said last night, starting the whole controversy was just not necessary. I've asked you to stop w/ posts like these. Yes, you are right about things you say and have the full right to your own opinion when it comes to other things(all the DMB sucks nonsense). While posts like all those ones, and the stuff in here, are normal "discussions".....they bring nothing to the table. All they do is start more controversy and as I've said a bunch of times already, I thought you would keep that away from these boards. I want you here on these boards...I want you helping people out...I know you have a wealth of knowledge but starting these arguements really just hurts the integrity of the boards. I'll talk to you more about this on IM later but please try to keep the extreme controversy posts to a minimum

That's all for me right now.....Fire, come on man. This is the same kind of thing as your previous thread about the boards going to shit. Your letting gcomm get to you and thinking that everything has gone down hill since he's been back. He's started controversy and it's getting to you. Take a break if you need it....but don't turn your back on a community that values your opinion, knowledge, and above all....friendship
I stopped after I talked to you about it. I talked to you after this all shook down and I didn't post anything after that and I wouldn't say that I went about this in a manner simply to stir up controversy and I didn't do any name calling or anything like that. I've just seen all this crap before on boards two years ago and it actually does lead to crap. that's the only reason I posted anything about it.

"she's dressed in black again
and I'm falling down again
down to the floor again
I'm begging for more again
but oh, what can you do when she's dressed in black?"

Don't let it get to you Phil. Just a guy posting words on a message board.

In closing, this little song reminds me of Digging A Ditch.

Thanks a lot firedaner for tabbing this! :D

I've had the 'song' on my pc way back since 2001...and always loved it.
I don't really understand the lyrics to it, sorta got a dark feel to them...but I don't know just always liked it.

A while back I got hold of two versions of the 'song' - one with just Dave and the lyrics, and one which someone had altered to make it seem like full band. The issue was often talked about on any DMB boards at the time...anyways

I've always wanted to be able to play along to this, but I've only been playing for 2 years so...and I'm not great at tabbing by ear - well not just yet ya!

I first got hold of a tab for the song from Catherine Gagnés webpage http://www3.sympatico.ca/g403z/ - where under the secton Dave Matthews Band the 'song' is titled 'sound check #1'.

Me being a lass with lil' hands it's always been hard for me working around her version of the tab - well jus couldn't play it fast enough. So just wanna say thanks ay lot for tabbing your version as I find it a lot more easier to work around.

I eventually played along to the whole lot today :D. Maybe making a fuss of it but jus, man been wanting to be able to play along to it for ay long time.

By the way - your mp3 version of the song - its awesome - should add lyrics to it next time
