So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Davy28 wrote:The problem with let you down is that it the main part is in 3/4, but timmy's guitar plays lots of little fills that seem to throw the timing off. You have to be able to key into daves guitar so that you can stick with the timing and anticipate when he switches to 6/8 timing for the "I have no lid upon my head..." part.
Yea, I was just gonna say, it isnt in 5/4. If you play daves guitar part and tap your foot with the song, you get 3 beats per chord. Just cause there is 5 chords doesnt make it 5/4.

Same here. It just seems the most natural way, to me.

Damn, that sounds difficult. Try using your Ring for the bar.

It's not hard. Try it my way, I used to bar with my middle, but found it much easier to do it Dave's way.

bbatsell wrote:*shrug* the index is much easier for me to barre with. and i find it sets up my fingers much more nicely for the next part.
i did a very shitty video on my camera to show how i finger it (note: this is MY way, simply because i don't have the strength in my pinky to barre; dave barres it with his pinky). it's pretty dark and you can see my roommate walking around behind me, but oh well

Cool vid, I don't see why pinky barring is so hard for some, not trying to be an ass, but it's not that hard I don't think.
